hard to sense
beyond these walls
this nation—
an invisibility
seeded by a tiny dragon
threatens a global community
united but carefully separated
so we may not unwittingly
shed the viral nuclei
in breath
by touch

‘The words I say to you I say to me,’ I keep reminding myself of this when I am offering some wisdom to someone who is in need of encouragement, inspiration or listening.
We all need so much reminding. If we consider ourselves as spiritual beings in a physical body then it’s a long process of not getting caught up with our physicality, our materiality, the desires that serve our body, and finding our way towards honouring the other desires we cherish. The desire to offer who we are most honestly to the world. The desire to become fully who we are – as a spirit and not just a body. We need to remember this. Through conversations with each other, as well as through the meditation, contemplation and prayer that connect us with the larger world of spirit, we so very regularly need reminders.

Trust them.
You might even call them love.
Truly forgive others for not being what you would hope of them.
They are struggling.
They don’t know how to do it better just yet.
They have fear.
They need your compassion.
A friend of mine told me she doesn’t like that term. ‘It feels thick, clumsy,’ I think she said.
‘Exactly!’ I thought. ‘That’s right’
When we’re in the grip of soul congestion then our heart feels shrouded and wooden. We can’t feel or we over-feel what is going on. We shift between panic and low moods, excitement and despair. We need a soul decongestant but we usually just give in to a familiar reaction instead.
